Robberies like this are rare in College Hill, extremely rare compared to high-crime areas of the city. But it’s a reminder that we can’t take anything for granted. If you’re interested in helping make the neighborhood safer, the College Hill Neighborhood Watch meets next Monday, April 28, 6:30 p.m., Church of the Covenant Fellowship Hall. The Neighborhood Watch has drawn little interest from the neighborhood in recent years. If you’d like to do something to change that, come and share your concerns.
For what it’s worth, the News & Record also reported the robbery. In contrast to the detailed description of the robber provided by WGHP, the N&R reported, uselessly and apparently in error, that the police had only an incomplete description of the man.
