College Hill residents and property owners are invited to an informational workshop about trees in College Hill on Monday May 12. Foresters from W. H. Lock and Associates will present the results of the tree inventory they conducted over the past year. The inventory was funded with College Hill municipal service district revenue. An interactive map version of the inventory will be available online.
The workshop will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the 12th at the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant in the Fellowship Hall.
The foresters also will discuss how the inventory can be updated as trees are removed (due to storms, disease, etc.) and new trees are planted and how it can be used to guide reforestation efforts in the neighborhood. The inventory will help in identifying suitable locations for new trees that will not conflict with overhead power lines. The foresters will also offer advice about caring for trees and proper tree pruning techniques.
